Mottled Monday Morning EveryOne
Another day, another week, another month, we have kind of lost account to what the date is and in some accounts feel more like a robotron stuck in groundhog day movie. You keep waking up to the same old, same old, feeling like you are not on control of much if anything, just waiting for someone else to tell you what you can do, where you can go and at what time. A few of you at this moment is starting to say to yourselves, hum where is he going with this, I thought this was suppose to be an uplifting, go get em kind of format, what's with the hum drum of it all. Well reality is reality and not every day do we "feel" like getting up, or "feel" like listening to someone else (as a friend you to tell me) blow sunshine up your butt and act as if everything in the world is perfect and if you can feel what I feel then something must be wrong. Hogwash, sometimes the best motivational talk one can give is reality, letting someone else know you are experiencing the same garbage you/they are. Reality is not always pretty, and no I hate getting out of bed int the mornings. But I also hate finishing up the end of the day in the middle of the night. I work between 10-12 hour days right now, multiple days of the week. As it is I still, feel like working till 7pm or after is not my cup of tea, but uncertainty of tomorrow is the motivation to bank what I can today for inevitable tomorrow.  So the motivation part of today is, you is not alone, there are other of us having just as much trouble getting out of bed today as you are. Knowing the sun does rise everyday, whether we can see it or not, shinning in our windows like an irritating itch to get our or bed or stay seated in our chairs behind our computers or whatnot, or if we have to endure the doom and gloom of a dreary sky that just leaves us relentlessly fighting not to just pull the covers back over our heads, rolling over with out hitting the snooze button and playing dead to everything and everyone around us. Even in this time when not everyone is working we all have a job to do. Some may be to take care of the kids, there is laundry that needs done, meals to prepare and so one. This reminds me of the time after I graduated from high school and was starting college. Someone asked my mother (who found herself quite busy in the house, the wife of a pastor. She never had a full time job outside of the home while married to my Dad, but you never found her "sitting" around eating bom-boms or twiddling her thumbs.) So now that you are basically an empty nester what are you going to do with yourself all day. WOOW, light a match to the cannon, although my mother was quite polite about it, started off with a wicked list of every day things that needed to be done, just around the house. She did not go on to include the letters she wrote to people that needed encouragement, making meals for people in need, sowing cloths for Dad and I as well as herself. Knitting scarves and mittens for the homeless and missionaries to give away. So just because you are not out in the job market right now, there is still much you need to be doing or could be doing and first and foremost being an encouragement to others. Checking in on them, calling friends and making sure they don't need anything, writing an email or two or three. You see there is a reason to get out of bed, even when you don't feel like it. So even if we have to go hunt for those sun rays, go dig for those nuggets of gold, let's get our there today and do something and let's put a stop to the day by day groundhog robotron schedule that we have fallen into and let's make the most out of what has been give us. Oh and still blowing sunshine up everyone else's behinds, be honest, be sincere, and let's go make us a most happy, happy all day long. Even if we have to make it happen ourselves.
